Being a Lead for the groups of Lynnea is an enormous contribution to the sim. Leads are drivers of roleplay and are valued as one of our most important positions! Taking the role as a lead is accepting that you are now representing Chronicles of Lynnea, your actions and demeanor will help judge how the sim functions and is the first painted picture to most players of how our community is as a whole. We want the best for the sim and expect that you do as well! Also, the required time and responsibility must be noted because while we want you to enjoy yourself, this position is very crucial to the lives of our player's characters as they weave their story with you and your assigned group. You ARE the leader!
Below is our Lead Policy for those who take on the role of Lead in our sim.
1. Players are our lifeblood.
Without players, we would just have an empty plot of virtual land, and that would be incredibly boring! Please be kind and respectful to everyone, even if undeserving. This way we uphold a professional atmosphere and you can report them with your dignity intact! If you are having an issue with a player, report them using our Report Abuse form, that's what it is there for, and the Administration will have the problem sorted out. If you happen to be a Lead that is also a Moderator and need an emergency adjudication, DO NOT handle the situation yourself! Mods that are dual roled as leads may NEVER settle their own altercations. Remember players have every right to report you as much as you do them! Any person/s reported will be viewed on the same level as any player.
Your players are very important, but others outside of said group are as well! As a lead, you are expected to drive roleplay and create a fun scene for everyone! Though it's completely impossible to include every single person, we can damn well try!
In respect to your roleplay, you play an important figure, and we understand that, always a plus! However; Shine the spotlight on players as much as you can. Leads are not here to gloat under a fancy title, at the heart, we are all just players here. Write a story with those around you, not an autobiography!
You are an important face on sim. Your presence brings roleplay and allows others to be involved with more political and faction based plots. People look to you for guidance in character and out of character. Be the lead you'd want to have as a player! Here in CoL, we require our leads to at the very least be on sim 5 days a week for several hours. We do not allow positions to be taken here as a 'second job'. If you are a lead or in a position of authority in another sim, whether on an Alt. Account or on your main, do not apply for a position here in Lynnea. Any lead discovered of this will have their position revoked. We support other sims as well as our own! Important positions take time and dedication that cannot be met by our standards if trying to manage two sims. We require this with respect not only to our sim but the others out there.
Keep your group active. As a lead, try to get your group as involved as possible and promote your group! Host events for your players and inspire them to get involved in simwide events. The more active you make your group, the better off and more enjoyable it can be. Leads are required to host their own group events at least once a month. Group events unless it impacts simwide storyline and players as a whole do not need to be approved by admins, so no event proposals are necessary! Simply use the website calendar, schedule your event in an appropriate time and place, keep in mind time zones, and send out a notice! Please respect other group events, if someone has scheduled a big event or an event on the same day, make sure your events do not compete with one another!
New Leads brought onto staff will be brought on for a trial period of 6 weeks. If by the end of this 6 weeks it is determined they cannot be as active as is required or their character is not a beneficial figurehead for the faction, unfortunately, the Lead will be let go and applications reopened.
3. Notice Rights
Please try to be sparing with your notices, especially in the main group! Limiting to 2-3 notices a week is recommended.
Do not advertise for anything other than your group or event.
Due to the nature of the sim and the set up of the lore, while we here at Lynnea appreciate all offers of suggestions and help, the structures of the preestablished factions and groups of the sim will remain as they are. Lynnea wishes to avoid constant rank and structure changes with the passing of leads, which tends to stifle and confuse existing players. Leads are chosen solely on an OOC level and never change hands IC without approval. Suggestions of changes are always welcome, but any structural or lore based requests of change will likely be declined.
Second in Commands will not have to app for the position or have admin approval due to the IC nature of the role. However, Leads are solely responsible for said SiC and must choose someone they wholeheartedly trust with the position. Second in Commands are those who look after the group in your stead, put someone there that you believe will treat and run the group as you do.
