The Isle of Valesk is an island that sails the waters of Lynnea like a ship and is the home to our characters.
Thought to be a chunk of the distant Farlands or even the husk of a fallen god, the mystery behind its origins has yet to be discovered. First settled by Fae, it is they and their magic that keeps the island in a constant state of biological balance. By that, it is made up of a deciduous climate with four seasons, and it remains the same despite its travels by their aid. It has been deemed without them the Isle would have never come to fruition.
Over the past several hundred years, other races have established themselves upon the Isle and many wars have been waged on its soil. It now in its present makes up a vast, magical home for those who live on it and has several different factions built on its shores. The City of Myrrine, The Wardens of Blackgate, and the Elves of Tal En'anar are some examples of the civilizations currently populous on Valesk. In regards to trade, it is a major destination for merchants and currently is noted as the largest place of commerce in the known world. Events such as the docking of the island to major continents in its course of migration bring a vast selection of trade goods from different cultures. Some are most valuable and others, desirable rarities. Other groups have established here also. Ranging from a wild Shifter pack called the Ro'ark, to an assemblage of magic users known as the Conclave of Astreya, it has many opportunities to indulge in a community and engage a profession. The people of Valesk are a variety of different races, cultures, and ethnicities. The island makes up the most diverse place in Lynnea, but it doesn't come without its drawbacks. Due to the plethora of people from all over the world, racism can be prevalent here and hate crime is nothing new amidst the normal political disputes that every nation holds. Still, this doesn't discourage many from trying to make a life here. Life on Valesk is new and ever-changing. Those that flock to the Wayward Island add to its own unique culture that develops with each year that passes by. What the future holds for it is unknown but it could prove to be a prosperous one.
